Renewable Energy Insurance in detail

Renewable energy insurance is not an off-the-shelf solution and various products are available for different stages of renewable energy products. We will work with you to provide essential advice and the right insurance proposition.

  • Business interruption Cover for loss of future profits and additional cost of working.
  • Professional indemnity Cover for errors or defects.
  • Liabilities Cover for employers, public, products and environmental liabilities.
  • Property damage Damage to buildings, contents, tools and equipment.
  • Machinery breakdown Cover for breakdown of key machinery.
  • Boiler explosion Cover in the event of boiler explosion.
  • Terrorism Cover for an act of terrorism.
  • Legal expenses Legal expenses for defending/pursuing actions including employment/contract disputes, tax investigation and other covers.
  • Directors' and officers' Cover for accusation of wrongful acts by directors and managers.

Obtaining expert insurance advice at the planning stage is very important. This is a highly specialised insurance product and many insurers will not provide cover unless certain processes have been followed and certain standards have been achieved. In extreme circumstances some risks are uninsurable if the correct procedures have not been followed at the outset.
