What does the Self-Drive Hire claim process look like?
In the first instance, we ask that you notify us of the incident as soon as possible. This helps to avoid any unnecessary delays. Once we have the incident details, we ask that you provide hire documentation and images of your vehicle to validate the claim. These are then sent to the insurer to start the claim process.
Next, we request an estimate for repair. You know your vehicle better than anyone, so we ask you to obtain an estimate from your preferred garage. This is sent to the insurer’s engineers for authorisation.
After repairs have been authorised, the work can begin. Upon repair completion, the vehicle is ready for hire and back out on the road. After the repair has been carried out, we ensure that the invoice is paid, liability is resolved (if a third party was involved), and the claim is closed promptly.
