Grade II Listed Bernard Meadows Sculpture Undergoes Restoration
Located outside Prospect House, ‘Public Sculpture’, by celebrated modernist sculptor Bernard Meadows, was commissioned in 1968 and revealed by Princess Alexandra on opening of the building in 1970.
In 2018 Historic England granted the sculpture Grade II listed status, identifying that it ‘possesses special architectural and historic interest’.
The restoration work is being undertaken by Antique Bronze, one of the UK’s leading bronze restoration companies specialising in sculpture and architectural features. The sculpture will be stripped of its worn lacquer, polished, buffed and re-lacquered.
Prospect House is the home of Alan Boswell Group, Archant, Nicholsons Solicitors, and McTear Williams & Wood. Alastair Drew, Finance Director at Alan Boswell Group, said “It’s important to us to preserve the heritage of Prospect House, the work undertaken by Antique Bronze will restore the sculpture to its former glory so it can be enjoyed by Norwich for many years to come.”
